an indecorous alphabetN is for Notes- Why is there an ironing board leaning against your door? - There's a note attached. "Please return this to the cupboard upstairs." Ah: it's part of the on-going war about returning communal items. - Really? - Yeah. The ironing board and the vacuum cleaner are both shared between the flats. They stay in the cupboard upstairs. People on this floor keep using them and then leaving them in the corridor. - And people attach notes to them, telling people to return them? - Yeah. Everything here is conducted by notes. "Please return the vacuum cleaner" or "Please do not break the security door". You know, notes. - Not by knocking on doors and talking? - Doesn't seem to work that way. I spoke to one of my next door neighbours last month. I've only seen the one on the other side once in nine months. - That's bad. - London. - Did you borrow the ironing board? - Nah. I've got my own. They haven't quite cottoned on to that fact though. I'll leave them a note about it. Now available as an RSS feed. A is for
